Adult Hip-Hop!     Register

Target Audience: Adults of any dance background

Description: All experience levels welcome. Come out to learn a new routine every week! Dancers should wear loosely fitting athletic clothes and tennis shoes!

Adult Jazz!     Register

Description: If you are looking for a way to start getting in shape without going to the gym, this is it! With a focus on strengthening and conditioning, the class will include a jazz-based warm up and choreographed combinations to provide a fun dance workout experience.

Beginner Improv Class     Register

Target Audience: Grades 3-7
Time: Thursdays 6pm-7pm

Description: Class will present an introduction to the art of improvisation with a class presentation at the end of the course. Classes include intro to confidence and support, listening, playing from character and emotion, playing in space, relationship stakes and scenes, character and emotion, patterns and games, and ends with a final presentation using skills mastered in a live improv from students’ ideas.

Beginning Improv Skills     Register

Target Audience: Grades 7-12

Description: Perfect for all beginning-acting students. We will explore the basics of comedy improvisation: team building, trust, speed, status, active listening, and agreement. Students learn to be fearless and have fun on stage using the approach to improv comedy. This class meets once a week for 10 weeks.

Fundamentals of Acting     Register

Getting Down to Business (Advanced training)     Register

Target Audience: Grades 6-12
Time: Mondays 4:30-6:00

Description: Students who have completed Fundamentals are eligible for Core training. This class focuses on
- scripted materials, and the business of acting.
- Auditioning (cold readings/prepared audition pieces)
- Movement for the actor
- Stanislavski Intermediates (text analysis/beats of action/method of physical action)

Intermediate Jazz     Register

Target Audience: Grades 6-8/Ages 11-14

Description: Students will become proficient in the basics of jazz dance including warm up and stretching techniques, isolations, basic turns, across the floor combinations to include other jazz steps, and choreographed combinations.

Mystery Madness     Register

Target Audience: Rising 4th-7th graders
Time: Saturdays 9-11am

Description: Explore mysterious happenings and strange characters! Build acting skills and explore stories such as Sherlock Holmes and Nancy Drew! Students will explore the ideas of theme and story while creating their own mystery, to be shared in an informal presentation at the end of the class!

Description: This is a workshop designed to improve, stage presence, self confidence, and fearlessness in theatre! This workshop focuses on team building, taking chances and finding out what makes us stand out on stage. A fun playful workshop that will create a more confident actor!

 
PRIVATE CLASSES   Group Classes   Camps

Private Acting     Register

Teacher: Christine Hellman
Target Audience: All ages
Time: 30 minute private sessions (minimum of 3 sessions)
Registration Deadline: Open
Tuition: $25 per session ($75 for 3 sessions)
Description: Have an audition coming up? Working on a show and need help understanding your character? Always wanted to try acting but never wanted to with a group of strangers? Sign up for 3 sessions of Private Acting Classes. Christine Hellman will contact you to schedule your sessions.

Private Voice     Register

Teacher: Jordan Harper
Target Audience: All ages
Time: 30 minute private sessions (minimum of 3 sessions)
Registration Deadline: Open
Tuition: $25 per session ($75 for 3 sessions)
Description: Students will learn proper techniques for performing musical theatre songs including legit, belt, and high voice singing. Jordan Harper will contact you to schedule your sessions.

 

Full payment for each class or workshop is due at registration.

A 10% discount is available on the second and subsequent camp, class or workshop for families with more than one student, and for students taking more than one camp. [These discounts do not apply to Curtain Call, Second Stage, and Flappers.]

Refunds will be issued for any classes or workshops canceled by Workshop Theatre. Participants who choose to withdraw from a class must do so by 5:00 p.m. on the registration deadline date to receive a refund.

Minimum enrollment for all camps, classes, workshops, troupes, and after school programs is 5 participants.

Workshop reserves the right to remove participants from any classes due to behavior problems.
